OTAGO RUGBY FOOTBALL UNION -
The Otago union, which had been formed in 1881 and was one of the most influential - in terms of playing and of offfield leadership - in New Zealand, needed a home of its own. It had used the Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Tahuna Park, which was the first test venue in Dunedin, and the Caledonian Society’s old Caledonian Ground, but it wanted a ground of its own that it could develop in association with the Otago Cricket Association.

ALLBLACKS.COM -
As the teams build their campaigns for this year’s Rebel Sport Super 12 competition, the All Blacks selectors have also been busy visiting the franchises and talking to the players and coaches. A major reason why we visited the five franchises is we have written individual reports on each of the players who went on the All Blacks’ European Tour and we wanted to talk to them in person.
